Last week we took a look at blogging and how a simple blog can draw in new customers. Blogging is fun and simple. Hopefully you decide to take on the creation of a blog. This week we’re going to talk about the world of article submission. Article submission is free and can draw in new customers while establishing you as an expert in your industry. It’s simply taking well-written, informative articles and sharing them with the world.
This section is about using articles to drive publicity to your website or blog. These articles should be written in your area of expertise and offer reader’s valuable information. There are several elements for writing a good article; the first of which is to write to your readers. Consider your readers to be a touch wider than your target market. While your target market will have the most interest in the content you’re offering, you don’t want to count out the average knowledge seeker. Plan your content and writing style accordingly.
The next step is to submit your content to popular article admission sites. The process of submitting articles is easy and usually free. You simply create an account and then upload your articles. Your biography is an important part of your profile and should offer a blend of information about yourself, personally and professionally. Make sure your article conforms to the site guidelines.
This also briefly explains SEO and outlines the importance of using it in your articles. The next area brings awareness to the four elements of SEO content: keyword density, back linking, headings and subheadings, and keyword selection. Each element is defined and simplified with a specific explanation of how it works.
So, how do you create an article that people will read? First of all, it has to be easy to read. Break your text up with white space to make it visually appealing. Also use formatting techniques such as bullets, headings, subheadings, and shorter paragraphs. Most readers quickly scan an article to decide if they want to read the whole thing. This process takes seconds, so you need to catch their attention immediately.
These articles are linking to your website and blog all in an effort to get them on your site. Once you have them on your site your well-constructed site will walk them through a call to action.
Next week we’re going to start the section on social media. The social media section covers the simple to use aspects of social media and more specifically Facebook and Twitter. It will be split into two weeks to offer as much information as possible without overloading you.
