Traditionally there are 4 major forces in this world, politics, military, economics and religion.
All of those have been used and misused in the past. The 21th century is about the power of knowledge and information. Allthough it seems little against those major forces mentioned before, it is not !
Knowledge overrules all of them, most powers are engined by belief and belief is based on information but not necessarily true. Too bad most of the information provided is to sustain that power and therefore it is influenced by people and that makes it very unreliable, even in the western world where we have free press and freedom of speech.
But true knowledge is verifiable, it is transferable and should be based on facts (which offcourse should also be verifiable).
This article is to try and let people think about those words. What is true, what are facts and what is knowledge ?
If we have a good definition, we could setup a knowledge database similar to wikipedia but the facts should be verified by scientists or people with undisputable reputation in their respective fields.
But it should be readable like a book and for all people to be understood, that means journalists or writers should actually make the content. Scientist are bad in explaining their stuff :-)
Well, these are my thoughts for today, which I wanted to share with you all.
