    Online version of our brain

Scientists are predicting full integration of our brain to internet for quite some years. Last year IBM made of a giant step by creating a cognitive chip that interacts with our brain and learns and can gather information from the brain.

Let's think this one step further to try and understand what could happen if this technology progresses.

If wireless connected to the  internet we could easily learn and search knowledge and engage with other people in the way our brains work (the ideal user interface :-)

We would also be able to make a backup of our thoughts and feelings in order to live on forever.

How would that work ? Besides from the ethical part of cloning people which is offcourse a huge issue. You could restore your backup to a clone of yourself and you 2.0 is back alive.

But is that really true, this person knows everything you know, feels the same and has the same view on the world. But is it really you ?  I cannot figure that out to be honest, but it was an interesting thought I'd like to share and know if anyone can give an answer to that might strikes me.

        Hi Gerard,

IMHO human can not be copied, nothing spiritual but the human mind is an instrument with inner workings and mechanisms we can not understand. It is as if copying fire. Surely we can recreate a fire but not THE fire. Amounts of external influences make us to what we are. Connections are made; broken and evaluated every instance. IF we could make a copy it would act as a twin brother/sister. When 'you' both wake up there will be a difference and this difference will increase every day.

For now the 3D videogame we call life is one of the most complicated there is. You only get a single credit at start and there are no cheat sheets to obtain a new one.

Today is a gift, thats why they call it the present.

        Kind regards

        Marcel
