Last time we discussed videos and how they can boost your online presence. This week we’ll wrap it up by talking about how to actually make and promote a video.
You know the importance of adding videos to your online marketing campaign, so what is the first step in video creation? As with anything related to your business, you need a plan. This area covers the basics of your video planning, as well as podcasts and video submission. Videos can really increase your results in terms of web traffic, sales, and online presence. There are great tools available to make your video marketing a success.
First, set some goals. Decide what kind of video you will make and the purpose of it. Create an outline of what to talk about, props to use, and anything else you will need. Stay on track and follow your script until you feel more comfortable on camera. You’ll only get there with practice. In order to create a quality video, you need equipment such as a video camera, tripod, and microphone. You also need to use video editing software to make sure the video is attractive to watch.
Podcasts are also popular on blogs and websites. Podcasts are audio recordings that are uploaded for viewers. As with videos, you can promote podcasts with existing marketing strategies, and link them to online directories and forums.
We’ll end with a list of video submission sites, in addition to YouTube, to help you increase page views. Most of these sites require you create an account before uploading. Many of them also offer analytics to track views. Not all of the sites listed are free, so always take the time to read all information before signing up.
Next week we take a look at how you can track what happens on your website or blog. Google Analytics is the most widely-known and used analytics program available.
