One Tourist One Tree!
One tourist, One Tree aims to create a pristine environment and be a model of green tourism in Cambodia. Caring for our environment is no longer an option, but a necessity, to safeguard the beauty and majesty of the planet that we so joy today. Green hotels and resorts play a major role in this as they make each trip not just grand and memorable but give you confidence, ensuring that you don’t hurt the environment while you travel, as all of us are concerned of global climate change.
As recently initiated by the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia “One Tourist, One Tree”, the Memoria Palace & Resort in Pailin Province supports and joins this policy by offering to plant native trees in honor of all our guests on our resort’s compound, returning 13 hectares of land to native forests and thereby helping to diminish the effects of carbon dioxide. The tree planting will take place from 8 August to 31 November 2013 with a goal of planting 1000 trees, with our guests assisting in the planting. Every three months we will take photos of the trees our guests’ plants and update them by email, showing the growth of the trees.
