Last week we started talking social media by talking about Facebook. Facebook offers many advantages to their use as a social marketing tool. This week we’re going to wrap up social media by taking on Twitter. The other giant of the social networking trifecta is Twitter. Twitter is a social networking site based on the use of space restricted “tweets”. You build a group of followers to keep informed of what’s going on in your business.
Because of the nature of tweets, Twitter followers are more trusting of links because of the mass use of them. This is a great advantage to driving traffic to landing pages.

All of these areas help you start your Twitter account and go through the basics of getting your profile out there. Once you have a profile set up you need to take the time to start interacting. You will also learn how to compose tweets and become effective in the information you convey in the short piece of area to share it.
We’ll will also talk about following ratio and Twitter etiquette. These are both important. As with all social based sites, there is a way to conduct you. Always read the user guidelines, but it comes down to treat others and you want to be treated. Your following ratio is the number of followers you have to the number of people you’re following. Twitter does not have an ad program, but there are other ways to quickly build a following that converts. Next week we’re going to move on to talk about affiliates. Affiliates give you the ability to bring in additional leads and revenue while working with another business owner.
